6 Beauty Trends to Try This Summer

Summer is the perfect season to step out of your comfort zone and try new trends. But we know sometimes there are just too many to keep track of and know what’s right for you! That’s why we’ve come up with a list of 6 possible beauty trends for you to try this summer! Keep reading to discover your next style!

1. Feathery Brows

Fluffy brows are one of the easier trends to follow, and require little effort. This style looks good with natural makeup looks or full glam. To achieve this look, grow out your natural brows. Pluck your brows to your desired shape and fullness, but do not over-pluck! The more natural-looking, the better for this trend! Invest in a good brow gel and apply it with a spoolie to fan your brows into a feathery look.

2. Polished Ponies

Pulling hair back into a bun or ponytail can give a sleek, elegant look – which is the desired goal of this trend. Part your hair down the middle, then brush your hair back into a spiky bun or smooth pony. Use gel or hairspray to slick down flyaway hairs and make your hair shine. If desired, add any hair accessories you want to take this look to the next level, or leave as is for smooth elegance.

3. Nail Designs

Lucky for you, you have the option to do almost anything with your nails! Funky designs are super trendy right now, but the design choice is up to you! Some design options are:

• Cow print
• Smileys
• Colorful french tips
• Psychedelic swirls
• Chrome
• And more!

The options for your nails are endless so get creative and try something new! Getting acrylic nails can be a fun change and an extra accessory to any outfit. If long nails or lots of upkeep aren’t your thing, keep your nails short but add a pop of color!

4. Statement Hairstyles

Like your nails, when it comes to your hair, you have options. We see hairstyles this summer at both ends of the hair spectrum; either shaggy or blunt. Either way, a statement hairstyle is in. If you go for a shag look, ask your stylist for soft layers, texturized ends, and a fringe that splits perfectly to frame your face–think 60s boho! A blunt look is just the opposite; almost no layers, cut straight across the bottom. Blunt bangs are also an option. This style looks great on a short bob.

5. Keep It Natural

Natural looks are always in for the summer, but especially in 2022. People are choosing liquid or cream bronzers, blushes, and highlighters instead of powder products. These products have the same overall effect, but leave your makeup looking more natural, and less “cakey.” Apply them with brushes instead of beauty sponges for optimal results.

When it comes to makeup, less is more this summer. Choosing a BB cream over a high coverage foundation to reduce the layers of makeup on your face. Focus on pops of color on the lips or cheeks. And don’t forget skincare! Achieve naturally glowy skin through exfoliation, cleansing, and moisturizing.

Along with your skin, natural, effortless hair is popular. People are letting their hair dry naturally, or adding curling cream for heatless waves. There are also many hacks and products to achieve this look. Add texture to your natural hair with sea salt or texturizing sprays. 

6. Turn Up the Volume!

Unless you’re going for a sleek, pulled-back pony, volume should be your best friend. No matter your haircut, volumizing is important to give your hair some dimension and lift. Some of the ways to achieve this look are:

• Volumizing or texturizing sprays
• Blow drying your hair upside down
• Getting a blowout at the salon
• Wash your hair less often
• Apply dry shampoo between washes
• Change up where you part your hair

Let your hair be a statement on its own and add some life to it! Luscious locks are enough to take any outfit to the next level.
