Cosmetology sounds and looks like a big word. However, it shouldn’t feel intimidating! To relieve confusion about what cosmetology is, we’re going to define it!
The Literal Definition
According to Dictionary.com, cosmetology is defined as “the art or profession of applying cosmetics.”
Merriam-Webster says, “the cosmetic treatment of the skin, hair, and nails.”
While we agree with the way cosmetology is described by the two resources above, we believe that cosmetology and cosmetologists are much more than that!
“Cosmetology is the art of hair, skin, and nail care; an impressive skill.”
“Cosmetologists are artists, tradespeople, savvy businesswomen and men, social media powerhouses, and some of the most compassionate people you’ll ever meet!”
While our interpretation of the word “cosmetologist” might not apply to everyone in the field, it does describe the type of students we want at Moler!
